Enlisted are some
quick tips to diagnose autism based on behavioral variations in children:
·
Inability to Communicate
- Let's say you have a 5 year-old kid, unlike other children of the same age,
your child won’t respond or does not even seem to comprehend what people are
telling him or asking him to do. For autistic kids, their perception of
language is entirely different and they view the world differently. They are really
sensitive to noise as well. In schoolsfor mental retardation, these kids are given verbal and non-verbal trainings
to make them respond and communicate with others.
·
Social Skills – it has
been observed that a majority of autistic children do not like socializing and
a school for mentally challenged
train these kids to socialize. No wonder, there are exceptions as well. Say for
instance, it is easy to spot an autistic kid in a room full of people. How? You’ll
usually find him sitting alone at one corner of the room, barely speaking to
anybody and living in his own world of fantasies.
·
Lack of Interest – unlike
a normal child, autistic children do not understand games. By 'normal' children,
I do not mean that autistic kids are 'abnormal'; they are slightly different with
different sets of requirements and here’s when a school for mentally challenged comes as a delightful option.
·
Educational Fallacy -
For children with mental complexities, studying or beginning with learning
alphabets and numbers is complex because of the aforementioned reason i.e. lack
of understanding and comprehension. Or we can say that their mode of
understanding is all-together different from how a typical children would
understand. It has been observed many a times that an autistic kid mixes up 'B'
and 'D' and '6' and '9' and vice versa because of understanding complexities.
This is when parents need to get their child enrolled in a reputable school for mental retardation to
assist the child accordingly.
On the whole, there are many verbal and
non-verbal trainings endowed to such kids so that they can also live their life
to its fullest. After all, they have every reason to enjoy the rainbow colors
of life.
