The Deafening Noise amongst the Chaos!

Have you ever just put your fingers into your ears to just escape all those noises in around you? Living in crowded metropolitan like Delhi, such chaos, ruckus, noises are a part of your everyday life. In fact I start by day with my neighbors royal Enfield’s sound of its thundering engine. Then you have the alarm ringing, then shouting at your siblings for a turn at the bathroom, your mother calling you for breakfast and your dad taunting you for never being on time; now an everyday life is mix of honking, shouting, screaming, taunting etc. (My Poor ears, I just pray so much noise doesn’t make them bleed someday). We crave for the quietude and the solitude of a much more calming environment. Living through these noises, we take it as a punishment, and all the things about noise pollution levels rising, makes us even more wary of it.

But, then have you realized, what you consider a pain, is in fact somebody else’s joy. I am taking about the people who cannot hear. They are devoid of a share in the hustle bustle of the society, they do not experience the happiness that comes with hearing your mother call your name, they do not know how the melody of the chirping birds; they do not know the rolling thunder of the clouds. We complain about the deafening noise of the rambling city, they complain about the deafening noise of their quiet city. Close your ears once and imagine how it would feel to not hear your mother’s scolding? What would be the feeling of not hearing your own laughter? We take it as granted the ability to be able to hear, ask the people who never had it.

Thankfully, with many schools for the deaf and school for autism, addressing this issue, they are creating a society sensitive to such needs; a society which is becoming friendly to people’s special needs. A rambling society which will not be a deafening noise amongst the chaos!

NEVER STOP DREAMING!

If you have a specially abled child, there are chances you never stop worrying. The thought of his future and well-being after you pass away constantly plagues you.  Parents with mentally or physically challenged kids shower unconditional love on their child, yet they fear about him coping with the harsh world.

There is one common thing found in many physically challenged students i.e. lack of self-esteem. Studying in a special school for physically challenged would undoubtedly help them gain confidence. At the same time it is extremely important to expose them to personalities with similar challenges and how they rose above it. Read ahead to know more about a few such personalities:

1.Stephen Hawking

This world renowned theoretical physicist, cosmologist, and author suffers from a rare form of disease which led to a decline in his physical abilities over the years. It gradually paralysed him. He was given a life expectancy of two years when he was diagnosed with the disease at the age of 21. He even developed speech disabilities and could not be understood by all. But his fierce determination to not let disability become a deadlock helped him make a mark in the field of physics.

2.Nick Vujicic

Nicholas James Vujicic, an eminent motivational speaker was born without any limbs. Yes! Even though he was severely troubled during his childhood, he now gives hope and courage to millions of people throughout the world. He is so independent that you would find it incredible. He leads a normal life, has a family of his own, and has many habits which any other person without limbs would not even consider doing.

3.Sudha Chandran

Sudha Chandran is a famous Bhartanatyam dancer and actress who injured her legs in an accident at the age of 16. One of the legs had to be amputated. It doesn’t matter if your child has a mental or physical disability. They too have a right to dream. A mentally challenged child too if put in a good school for the mentally challenged, that caters to his needs can succeed in life, inspiring all others around him. Keep reminding your child to never stop dreaming!
