Family fun to beat autism

No matter, how well are you are earning on a monthly basis, if you run shortage of time and fail to spend some time with your family members and specially with your autistic kid, then it’s sad to say that you’re losing that million-dollar smile of your autistic kid, according to teachers from special school for disabled children and a school for the physically challenged.
Adding to this, the teacher said that, “we as teachers, comes across such guardians who though keep claiming they work abroad to ascertain that their kid can lead a comfortable life, however their kid fail to show much progress. Whereas, those kids whose parents spend time with them after they return or prior to going to their work are more interactive and healthier.” Thus, the bottom line is that being a guardian you should always be with your kids, know about his likes and dislikes to maintain a healthy relation, which will otherwise drift you apart from your family life, if overlooked.

If your kid is autistic and all you want that your kid should recover soon then, make sure that beside spending time on a daily basis, you enroll him in such a School for Autism where your kid can be treated in the best way possible. A visit to meet humanity

The inclination towards social service and humanitarian activities is a quality that lets you be at peace with yourself. We are so busy in our day to day lives that slowly we just get so involved that we shut down our senses and rotate in our routine cycle. We forget to relish the blessings. To appreciate the gifts one needs to witness deficiency.

I got a chance to wake up from my slumber of ignorance, when a friend of mine asked me to drop a parcel for his aunt at a special education school. I am a sensitive individual but like many of us I had the tendency to ignore my sensitivity whenever it pricked me to push myself out of the comfort zone, so I thought of ignoring the visit. But as I had promised that person my help, i decided to visit this special education school.

The parcel was to be dropped at a school for mental retardation. It was a boarding school, housing 45 inmates. On first impression the place looked like some secluded bungalow. I was asked to walk to the principal’s office, which was at the far end of the corridor encircling the entire perimeter. While walking past I got the time to take in the place, I now am ashamed of my thoughts then, but I was actually expecting some weirdoes to step out and scare me off. Instead I noticed adult kids were being guided by motherly teachers, some of them were painting, or singing or reading. But what was remarkable was they were all very protective towards each other, helping each other whenever they fumbled or fell. The teacher was supervising at a distance but never volunteered to help, she caught my eye and explained this is what we teach here, coexisting with each other’s support. The sheer flow of love struck me, and it melted something deep within. The normal sane humans don’t even bother to look what others are going through, and here at a school for mental retardation I was relearning the most basic principle of humanity.

And now as I have had my moment of self-realization, I actually like going there, doing petty jobs. Amongst those special people I look for my own sanity, the one that would keep me human.

Common symptoms of autism

Below mentioned are those common symptoms of autism, which majority of parents fail to recognize in their kid and as a consequence, their kids have to suffer in long term:

1. Repetitive Behavior- unlike general kids, an autistic kid will unusually be fixated to one toy and repetitively placing and de-placing the objects in one way or the other and majority of them are compulsive to a certain extent.

2. Avoid socializing: case studies exhibit that majority of autistic kids are 'socially unaware' and they do not like being cuddled and touched. All they want is that they should be left in a corner of a room and no one should really disturb them, says a teacher from school for autism. Thus, being a guardian, it’s your responsibility to make sure that your kids socialize in the best way possible, as it will help them in recovering soon.

3. Communicational complexities: autism is a neurobiological disorder in terms of its nature. Thus, it affects brain mechanism and stimulus converts the thoughts into words. It’s not that your child is dumb in any which way, sometimes, your kid might know the answer of a question that he is being asked, but he will fail to answer because of vocalization issues!

4. Tell Tale Symbols: During the early childhood, it’s not really uncommon for parents to have troubling instincts about certain behaviors that their child exhibit - for example: they may not want to be hugged, touched, avoid eye contact, slow in doing things, stammer, shows no interest in games at all, but it’s only after a certain point of time that parents realize that their kid is not behaving in the same way as he is expected to. Thus, instead of letting things slip from your end, make sure that take immediate steps of action against it to make your kid lead a happy and healthier life, says an expert from school from autism. Besides school from autism, there is a plethora of school for the blind to choose from.

Common problems that an autistic child goes through

Enlisted are some quick tips to diagnose autism based on behavioral variations in children:
·         Inability to Communicate - Let's say you have a 5 year-old kid, unlike other children of the same age, your child won’t respond or does not even seem to comprehend what people are telling him or asking him to do. For autistic kids, their perception of language is entirely different and they view the world differently. They are really sensitive to noise as well. In schoolsfor mental retardation, these kids are given verbal and non-verbal trainings to make them respond and communicate with others.

·         Social Skills – it has been observed that a majority of autistic children do not like socializing and a school for mentally challenged train these kids to socialize. No wonder, there are exceptions as well. Say for instance, it is easy to spot an autistic kid in a room full of people. How? You’ll usually find him sitting alone at one corner of the room, barely speaking to anybody and living in his own world of fantasies.

·         Lack of Interest – unlike a normal child, autistic children do not understand games. By 'normal' children, I do not mean that autistic kids are 'abnormal'; they are slightly different with different sets of requirements and here’s when a school for mentally challenged comes as a delightful option.

·         Educational Fallacy - For children with mental complexities, studying or beginning with learning alphabets and numbers is complex because of the aforementioned reason i.e. lack of understanding and comprehension. Or we can say that their mode of understanding is all-together different from how a typical children would understand. It has been observed many a times that an autistic kid mixes up 'B' and 'D' and '6' and '9' and vice versa because of understanding complexities. This is when parents need to get their child enrolled in a reputable school for mental retardation to assist the child accordingly.

On the whole, there are many verbal and non-verbal trainings endowed to such kids so that they can also live their life to its fullest. After all, they have every reason to enjoy the rainbow colors of life.

It is probable that a person with mental disorders will have to face troubles in learning, but unlike earlier, presently there are different schools for mentally challenged where these kids are trained to learn, express and counter the world confidently. This cannot be denied that there is a world of difference in managing the things on our own and taking a professionals’ recommendation so, make it a point that you send your special kid to a school for mentally challenged so that he can be granted liberty to add new dimensions to his life.
Besides sending your child to these schools for mental retardation, make sure that you religiously devote more than 2 hours with your kid and converse with him/her every single day. Doing so will not just simplify the complications, but will also lend a helping hand in the sooner recovery of your child.
In one of the recent interviews, experts said that mental illness and depression are two different things and thus, people should not misunderstand these two terms. Hence, if you child is suffering from mental disorder, enrolling him/her in a school for mental retardation can make a world of difference.
Doctors and other medical experts have concluded that genetic conditions, abnormal genes inheritance from parents, errors when genes amalgamate are some of the chief reasons behind mental illness. Complexities or poor-nourishment during the pregnancy can result in mental disorders of the kid. So it’s always recommended that when pregnant one should take a very good care of your health and nutrition because a slight negligence now can lead to painful results for you and your kid in the approaching time. Even if an expecting woman is an alcohol addict or gets an infection like rubella during pregnancy, she still can deliver her baby with this disability.
